Welcome to Butties & Bakes

Butties & Bakes is a small shop and caterer in the village of Mawdesley, Lancashire. We are a small team and we all just love food and what we do. Headed up by Hannah who has worked with food for many years, and found herself without an income during the lockdown, thinking about her feat Hannah decided to set up a little Honesty box at the end of her drive. Hannah has made award-winning cakes for over 10 years and the people loved the honesty box.

During this time she kept the prices low to help with the feel-good factor that was needed to get people through the lockdown. A very popular addition to the village at the time. It was at this time that Butties & Bakes was born. A unit nearby was available and waiting to be turned into a little shop/cafe.

The shop is open during the week and people are welcome to come in and sample our daily breakfasts. Our lunches include all sorts of sandwiches, delicious wraps, burritos, barms, toasted wraps, salads, hot subs, paninis and hot food.

With hot food including Lasagne, Chilli, Curry, Cottage pie and Burger mash-ups. The specials board changes daily and during the winter months including a soup of the day. Always homemade Sausage rolls and turnovers. And don't forget the CAKES!! Always some lovely cakes available for those cravings. From cookie pie to Caramel Shortbread you will not be disappointed.

Some have said that our Caramel Shortbread is the best in Lancashire!

Why not let us take the stress out of catering for your get family togethers, parties, garden parties, weddings, picnics and even funerals. We can plan the menus for you and discuss any food allergens or requirements to take the stress out of it all and guarantee you have delicious food to enjoy. We can deliver and serve the hot food for you or just be on hand to clear up after the meal allowing more time for fun. We also offer an office catering service, and business lunches delivered to the workplace which will impress your clients and colleagues.

Committee meeting sandwiches are very popular.

Don't forget the Cake! We can make most things into a cake. Hannah is an Award-winning cake maker winning awards for both taste and design.

Bespoke cakes for that special occasion, be it a wedding or a big birthday we will always make it special. Specialising in 3D cakes and with many Landrovers, under her belt, Hannah can make anything from an edible dog cake to a cake tractor. Realistic Chainsaw was a particular favourite.

The celebration cakes are made to order and need a deposit to secure the date and order.

Dates for cakes and outside catering can book up in advance so get your orders in ASAP.
